Toronto Naturopathic: The Five Worst Things you can do for YOUR SKIN, HOW TO GET GREAT SKIN, with natural medicine

You Are hurting Your Skin on the outside?
Having a solid skin care regimen is important, but there is more you can do to keep you skin looking healthy. Good skin care and healthy lifestyle choices can help delay the natural aging process and even prevent various skin problems. Follow these five easy tips to reap the full benefits of your skin care products.
Tip 1-Picking your skin

As tempting as it is, picking your skin can lead to further skin issues and may also leave permanent damage. Picking acne pushes the bacteria and puss back down into the skin, often resulting in further breakout or redness. In addition, breaking the skin in an unsterile manner may cause infection and also prevents the skin from healing correctly. You’re better off letting a professional do it, using extractions.

Tip 2-Not wearing sunscreen
Sun exposure is arguably the biggest culprit of skin aging.  Even with the issues of blocking the absorption of Vitamin D, I still think that it is critical in maintaining a youthful appearance. A comprehensive study by Australian Institute of Medical Research showed that daily application of sunscreen can reduce skin aging by whopping 24%. When you also factor in sunspots, uneven skin tone, and threat of skin cancer, there is overwhelming benefits in the daily use of sunscreen.
Tip 3-Taking long hot showers
Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Consider limiting your shower time, and use warm — rather than hot — water. Sauna and steam room time should be limited to 5 minutes.
Tip 4-Don’t over-wash skin
Too much washing, scrubbing, toning, or using medicated pads to “wipe off access oil” is actually counterproductive. All these dry out skin and strip its hydrating and protective barrier. This in turn prompts the body to produce more oil in order to keep the skin hydrated. Your best bet is to wash twice a day, morning and before bed, and follow up with Organic Omega Booster, which will keep your skin nourished and regulates your skins oil production.
Tip 5-Rubbing your skin
Whether you had a good cry, waking up in the morning, or having a moment of frustration, don’t abuse you skin by rubbing it roughly. The eye area is especially vulnerable since there are no oil glands there, and the skin is thin and has very little give. Repeated rubbing or pulling on the lids, especially when putting in contact lenses, can cause skin to slacken and fine lines to form. A good eye cream is a must to retain firmness and hydration of this delicate area.
