An inevitable change:
The process of aging is the inevitable change in the organisms. And according to the practitioners of Ayurvedic Massagethe process of aging involves multidimensional process ofpsychological, physical and social change in the environment. Someof the researchers in the world refer aging as a disease ingerontology i.e. certain genes with a certain pattern of subdivisionof cells that affects ageing.

Catabolism and Anabolism
What practically happens is as individual progresses in life sothe process of loss of tissue which is termed to be catabolism is greater then the process of gain of tissues which is known to beanabolism. As a result of which the strength and immunity start todecrease.
Different Theories of aging -There are differenttheories of aging which is mentioned below:
a) Theory of free radical:
In a free radical theory the free radical is any atom or moleculewhich has a single unpaired electron in the outermost shell . Andaccording to this theory the process of aging is actually when cellsstart to accumulate free radical damage over time.
b) Telomerase Theory:
This theory which was first discovered by group of scientist inMenlo park at Geron Corporation located in California. So basicallytelomerase are sequences of nucleic acids that extends from the endsof chromosomes and which basically have the ability to protect thechromosomes inside our cells. Each and Every time our cells divide, the telomerase become shorter and less able to protect thechromosome. This is the basic phenomena behind the destruction ofcells.
c) Hayflick Limit Theory:
This theory was discovered by Leonard Hayflick. And according tothis theory the population of cells in a cells culture divide between40 to 60 number of times. So eventually when the process of mitosisoccurs its shortens the telomerase. As a result of which further celldivision becomes impossible which correlates with the process ofaging.
